How To Create TikTok Ad Creatives That Convert (2026 Guide)

Discover three methods for creating high-converting TikTok ads: hiring UGC freelancers, using AI avatar tools, or filming with CapCut and a phone.

If your TikTok ads are not converting, the creative is almost always the problem. In this guide, you will find three production methods covered step by step: hiring a freelancer, using AI tools, and filming yourself with your phone. Each method is drawn directly from the workflow shown in the accompanying video, which is part of a full TikTok Ads course.

Before you start producing creatives, make sure your ad account is set up correctly. The TikTok Ads account setup guide (2026) walks you through the full process. And if you have not yet claimed the current TikTok new-advertiser bonus, check the guide on how to claim up to $6,000 in free TikTok Ads credits before you spend anything.

Method 1 — Hire a UGC Freelancer on Fiverr

The fastest way to get ad-ready video is to hand the work to someone else entirely. Fiverr is a global freelancer marketplace where you can search for UGC creator plus your target language and browse dozens of creators who record, light, voice-over, and edit the video for you.

What UGC creators actually deliver

Freelancers on Fiverr handle the recording, lighting, voiceovers, and editing. Many also write the script, though you can generate a script in ChatGPT first and hand it over if you prefer.

However, Julian notes a preference for letting creators write their own scripts: experienced creators know what performs, and a creator with 190+ five-star reviews has clearly learned what works. Providing a brief or product link is enough.

Indicative pricing from the video

The following figures come directly from creators Julian browsed before filming. Prices vary and may have changed.

FormatDurationApproximate price
Basic UGC clip15 seconds~$60–$90
Standard UGC clip30 seconds~$90–$120
Premium UGC clip60 seconds~$136–$150

Creators are not limited to English. Julian found a Dutch/English creator from Belgium at roughly $70 for a 15-second clip, illustrating that you can source native-language content for non-English markets.

Freelancer vs. agency

Full-service UGC agencies such as Brands on Ads maintain a pool of creators and can deliver more volume, but their prices include an agency margin. Julian recommends starting on Fiverr so you can contact creators directly without the mark-up, then scaling to an agency once you know which creative style is converting.

What to look for in a creator's portfolio

  • Product visible within the first 10 seconds
  • Multiple camera angles and scene changes (not a static talking head)
  • Burned-in subtitles
  • Fast pacing and clear audio

Method 2 — Use AI to Produce UGC-Style Videos

TopView AI — product avatar videos

TopView AI places a photorealistic AI avatar in front of your product image and lip-syncs a script in the avatar's voice. Julian walked through the full workflow in the video:

  1. Generate or photograph your product. Julian used ChatGPT to generate a protein shake bottle with a transparent background so it would composite cleanly.
  2. Choose an avatar. TopView AI offers a wide library — people sitting on balconies, standing indoors, even a cat holding a product. Julian selected a female avatar whose existing orange-juice prop matched the drink category.
  3. Upload the product image and scale it. The tool renders the avatar appearing to hold the bottle. Julian noted the colors looked natural and the grip looked convincing.
  4. Paste your script and choose a voice. Multiple AI voices are available; Julian chose a voice called "Valley" after previewing options. Accent options include Chinese, Dutch, German, French, and others.
  5. Select a subtitle style and hit Generate. Subtitles are placed automatically.

The output Julian reviewed showed the avatar speaking naturally about a passion-fruit protein shake. He observed that facial expressions still reveal it is AI at close range, but predicted the gap would close within months.

Practical tip from the video: Download the avatar clip, bring it into an editing app, and layer in supplementary product shots — a pour, a fridge pull, a slow orbit — so the avatar is not on screen continuously. Cutting away regularly reduces how easily viewers detect the AI origin.

TopView AI pricing (as stated in the video)

Julian compared several AI UGC tools and found competing platforms priced at $100 and $120 per month. TopView AI was around $30 per month at the time of filming, which he identified as the main reason to prefer it for product UGC content specifically.

Bonus feature: If you paste in a product-page URL from Shopify or Amazon, TopView AI can auto-generate a script from the listing copy.

TikTok Symphony — built-in AI tools

TikTok's own AI suite, TikTok Symphony, lives inside the Ads Manager (top-left corner of the dashboard). It offers:

  • Image to Video — upload a still product image and add a motion prompt. Julian tested beach waves splashing against the protein-shake bottle, a zoom-out, and a camera tilt orbiting the product. He found the image-to-video output "really beautiful" and usable as B-roll.
  • Script generator — paste a product-page URL and Symphony drafts ad copy.
  • Avatar generator — early access only at time of filming.

Julian compared Symphony's avatar output directly against TopView AI using the same protein-shake script. The Symphony avatar showed poor lip sync and repeated the same hand motion throughout. His verdict: Symphony avatars are not yet competitive, but the image-to-video feature is already production-ready. He also tested animating a still watch image; Symphony added a ticking motion and moving camera, which he highlighted as a strong use case for product-only shots.

Recommended workflow combining both tools:

  • Use TopView AI for the main talking-head segment.
  • Use TikTok Symphony's image-to-video for product B-roll inserts.
  • Combine in CapCut (covered below).

Method 3 — Film It Yourself With Your Phone

Camera

A modern smartphone camera is sufficient. Julian is explicit on this: a professional camera is not necessary. What matters far more is lighting and audio.

Lighting

  • Position your light source in front of you, not behind or to the side.
  • A professional LED panel works well; a window is a free alternative.
  • On bright days, a sheer curtain or blind softens the light and eliminates harsh facial shadows.

Audio

Julian states clearly that poor audio is a deal-breaker: viewers will tolerate imperfect video far longer than distorted or muffled sound. Use a dedicated microphone rather than relying on the phone's built-in mic.

Editing with CapCut

CapCut is the recommended editing tool because it is designed for short-form social video and is free to use on mobile and desktop. Key steps for a TikTok ad edit:

  1. Trim dead space at the start and between sentences to maintain pace.
  2. Add dynamic subtitles with high-contrast borders — burned-in captions improve watch time, especially for viewers watching without sound.
  3. Insert B-roll between talking-head segments to vary the visual rhythm.
  4. Use pop-up graphics or text overlays to call out key product features.
  5. Check the hook — the first two to three seconds must give the viewer a reason to stay.

Choosing the Right Method for Your Situation

SituationRecommended method
No time, have a budgetFiverr UGC freelancer
No on-camera talent, limited budgetTopView AI + Symphony B-roll
Comfortable on camera, want full controlSmartphone + CapCut
Need scale across multiple languagesFiverr (non-English creators) or TopView AI (multilingual voices)

Recommendation

If you are just starting out, hire one or two Fiverr UGC creators for 15-second clips in your target language. The cost is low, the production is handled for you, and you will quickly learn which hooks and scripts your audience responds to. Once you have a winning concept, use TopView AI to scale it into additional language variants or product angles without additional talent costs, and supplement with TikTok Symphony's image-to-video for polished product B-roll. Reserve the self-filming route for when you are comfortable on camera and have sorted your lighting and audio setup.
