Build a Webador Webshop: Step-by-Step Guide

Build a Webador webshop from scratch. Add products and variants, organize categories, and configure payments, shipping, taxes, and publishing.

Launching an online store does not have to involve complex technical work. Webador is a drag-and-drop website builder designed for beginners, and its e-commerce tools cover everything from product listings to payment processing. This tutorial walks through each step shown in the video walkthrough: enabling the cart, building a shop page, adding products with variants and inventory, organizing category pages, and configuring the store settings required before you can accept your first order.

If you have not yet signed up, you can try Webador for free and test the builder before committing to a paid plan. If you need to build the rest of your site first, see the step-by-step Webador website creation tutorial before continuing here.

Step 1 – Enable the Shopping Cart

The shopping cart is off by default. To turn it on:

  1. Go to Settings in your Webador dashboard.
  2. Toggle the shopping cart feature on and click Save.
  3. Select your preferred currency (for example, USD) and click Save again.

Once saved, the shopping cart icon appears on your site. You will also see a notice that selling online requires upgrading to a paid plan—you can complete the upgrade later, after setting up your products and store configuration.

Step 2 – Create and Position Your Shop Page

With the cart enabled, add a dedicated shop page:

  1. Go to Pages and add a new page named Shop.
  2. Configure its SEO settings (page title and description) at this stage.
  3. In the menu order, drag the Shop page so it sits directly after the homepage and before secondary pages like About—making it easy for visitors to find.

Once you open the Shop page in the editor, delete the default banner. Then add a Product Gallery section, give it a headline such as "Welcome to our shop," and center the text. The page is now ready to receive products.

Step 3 – Add Your First Product

Click inside the Product Gallery, then choose Product → Create new product. The product editor includes several fields:

Images

Upload your own product photos. For a physical item like a T-shirt, four to five images are recommended—this matches what shoppers expect from established online stores.

Description

Write or paste a product description into the text editor. The editor supports basic formatting such as bold, links, and lists. If you are short on time, you can use an AI writing tool to draft a starting description, then edit it to match your actual product.

Product type

  • Physical product – available on all paid plans.
  • Digital product – requires the Business plan. This covers items such as online courses or downloadable files.

Pricing and inventory

  • Set a regular price (for example, $25 for a T-shirt).
  • Optionally add a discounted sale price (for example, $20).
  • Enter your stock count; Webador automatically decrements inventory as orders come in.

Variants

For apparel or any item that comes in multiple options, use the variants feature:

  1. Enter a variant label such as Size.
  2. Add each option: Small, Medium, Large, XL, XXL (press Enter between each).
  3. After saving, you can assign a different price per size—for example, a lower price for Small and a higher price for XXL to reflect material cost differences.
  4. You can set separate stock quantities per variant and upload a specific image for each size.

Advanced options

  • Add a custom label such as "New" or "Sale" to highlight the product.
  • Add custom fields for print-on-demand items—for example, a text field where customers enter a name or team to be printed on the shirt.

Per-product SEO

Fill in the page title and meta description for every product. This gives each product page a chance to rank independently in Google search results.

When finished, click Save. The product appears immediately in the gallery. Repeat this process for each item—the walkthrough demonstrates adding a T-shirt and a jeans product to have two items available for testing category pages.

Step 4 – Organize Products into Category Pages

Category pages help shoppers browse by type. To set one up:

  1. Go to Pages and add a new page—for example, Tops.
  2. In the menu order, drag the Tops page slightly to the right, nesting it under the Shop page. This creates a dropdown menu under Shop.
  3. On the Tops page, delete the default banner and add a Product Gallery section.
  4. Click Add existing product and select the relevant item (for example, the T-shirt).
  5. Click Save.

Repeat for a Bottoms page, adding the jeans product. You can also create categories based on gender (Men, Women, Kids) or any other grouping that fits your inventory.

Your site now has three layers of navigation:

  • A general Shop page listing every product.
  • Individual category pages (Tops, Bottoms) listing only relevant items.
  • An optional single-product section on any page—useful for featuring a new arrival on your homepage.

Within the Product Gallery settings you can control how many products display per page, the sort order (manual, by price, by name, or visitor-selectable), and whether category filters appear.

Step 5 – Configure Store Settings Before Launch

Navigate to Store in the dashboard. Three areas must be completed before the store can accept orders.

Payment methods

Connect at least one payment processor:

  • Stripe – accepts credit and debit cards.
  • PayPal – requires a PayPal business account.
  • Bank transfer – customers pay directly to your bank account.
  • Invoice – customers pay after receiving an invoice.
  • In-store pickup – customers pay when collecting in person.

Connecting Stripe or PayPal requires upgrading to a paid plan. During setup you provide your name, email address, and bank account details.

Shipping

Set up at least one shipping method:

  • Free shipping – optionally triggered above a minimum order value (for example, free shipping on orders over $100).
  • Flat-rate shipping – a fixed fee for standard delivery (for example, $5).
  • Weight-based shipping – different rates depending on the parcel weight, useful for heavy goods such as supplements.
  • In-store pickup – listed as free.

You can also restrict shipping to specific countries or states and link to a dedicated shipping information page.

Sales tax

Webador lets you set tax rates that are either included in the displayed price or added at checkout. You can configure rates by country or by US state. Tax rules vary significantly by region, so confirm the correct rate with a qualified accountant or tax authority for your location before going live.

Additional store settings

  • Confirmation emails – automatically sent to customers after a successful order.
  • Shipping confirmation emails – sent when a package is dispatched.
  • Coupon codes – available in store settings for running promotions.
  • Customer information fields – optionally collect company name, VAT number, gender, or phone number at checkout.
  • Order and customer management – view and manage all orders and customer records under the Store tab.

The video notes that the Pro plan is available at approximately €17 or $17 per month and describes this as competitive for a hosted online shop. The Business plan is required for unlimited products and digital downloads.

Recommendation

Webador is a practical choice for anyone launching a first online store without a technical background. The drag-and-drop editor keeps setup straightforward, and the built-in store tools—variants, inventory tracking, multiple payment options, weight-based shipping, and per-product SEO—cover the essentials for a physical goods shop. The main limitations to be aware of are the 10-product cap on the Pro plan and the requirement to upgrade to Business for digital product sales.

If you are comparing options, the Wix eCommerce step-by-step guide covers a platform with a larger app ecosystem, which may suit stores that need more advanced integrations.
